Westerholm, Stephen. Associate Professor, McMaster University, Department of Religious Studies
(D.Th., Lund, 1978, Docent, Lund, 1983)

My research has focused primarily on the synoptic gospels (including issues surrounding the "historical Jesus") and the Pauline literature of the New Testament, as well as the Septuagint. One topic that I have explored in a variety of contexts is the understanding and role of Torah in Second Temple Judaism, in various early Christian writings, and in modern scholarship devoted to the period. Currently I am engaged in rewriting and updating my monograph Israel's Law and the Church's Faith: Paul and His Recent Interpreters.
